The great irony that is politics
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Has anyone failed to see the folly and scant disregard for the American people that Presidential hopeful John McCain has displayed in his selection of Sarah Palin as his running mate? I am by no means an American but living in this country, it would be foolish of me, not to pay attention to the most important decisions that will in turn affect my life (at least i hope i still have it when all this is done). Maybe i'm just another uniformed blogger whose comments are nothing more than an extension of the bad publicity that has been in the media since the start of the election season.

I am a twenty-one year old college student who by some persons standards, know nothing about the 'real world' but i think i know enough to know when something stinks. Mr. McCain's selection of a woman he hardly knows and whose only noteworthy characteristic is that she is pro-life. It has become increasingly apparent that a stance on Roe v Wade trumps experience anytime to the republican party.

This is the same woman who has displayed little interest in international politics and little concern for any thing outside of her constituency in Alaska. The same woman that has held a US passport for little more than a year, and the only reason she has one is so that she could visit "Alaskan troops" in Iraq. Maybe it's just me but i think that this woman would be best suited to stay in Wasilla.

Mr. McCain has tried for some time, since the start of his campaign really, to distance himself from the negative image that people have of republicans because of George Bush, but is unfortunately making the same mistakes that Bush made when he "appointed so many incompetents because they were sound on Roe v Wade." (Economist.com) Smart move John.

So while the republicans criticize a man who has opted for experience, merit and pure strength of character in his selection of Joe Biden, and choose a gun-toting pro-life soon to be grandmother (what's the literary device in there?), the American people are watching and are paying close attention. I guess all that's left to say will come form the President Obama's office in the form of a big 'Thank you' letter addressed to John McCain.

But what do i know? I'm just a 21 year old college student from Jamaica.

Me on Politics; What do i know anyways?
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

So i found out that blogging is a kool way to say what you want to say, whatever it is you want to say and you never have to face the consequences of your actions because in truth, no one should have to face any repercussions for stating their opinions; that with freee speech and all made into our human privilege!

That said, i think i may now take the time out to state my expert and well-informed stance on the current American Presidential Race. I THINK JOHN McCAIN IS AN ASS!!! Either that or he foresaw something that i and i'm sure, more than half the american population failed to see in his selection of a running mate.

I'm sure that Sarah is a very nice person and it would probably has some strong traits and characteristics that would make her fit for the VP position should, God forbid, John McCain win the presidential race! But i see thru it and the world see's through it that this is nothing more than a cheap shot at Barrack Obama for his Wise Decision to reject Hilary Clinton as his running mate.

Apparently McCain feels that y his selection he is being sympathetic toward a distressed gender who have never really gotten the chance to show what they can do given the right opportunity and maybe in so doing he would secure the voters and delegates that were sympathetic towards Hilary Clinton. Hello!!! Does the name Condoleezza Rice ring a bell? Or would it be more correct if i called her Mrs. Bush? Or maybe Monica Lewinsky would be a more familiar name to us all! I don't mean to sound the chauvinist but we have seen what women can do given the chance.

And maybe Johnny failed to see the wisdom in Barrack's decision but America lauds him for not playing the hypocrite and choose the person who has been his rival since the start of the elections and who has been the epitome of what a dirty politician is!

Thumbs up to Barrack and McCain, I hope you're not relying on cheap shots like those to win the Presidential race because if you are, my friend it will be a long ride back home when the President is announced. Maybe you could join one of those tours that they have at the White House or suddenly come down with Prostate Cancer and make it your dying wish to Sit in the President's Chair.

I wish you all the best and i hope that america votes with their head and not with their hearts cause you'll feel it later all over!
